This May, the Snymans Caterpillar Foundation led a heartfelt initiative as part of Snymans Inc’s 30th anniversary celebrations. Our "Spread the Love and Jam" Sandwich Drive brought teams, families, and communities together in a shared mission: making sandwiches for those who need them most.

What started as a simple idea - collecting bread, spreading peanut butter and jam, and giving it away - quickly grew into something much bigger.

A Team Effort Across Offices

Each Snymans Inc office selected a local organisation or shelter to support. The results were inspiring:

• Swellendam delivered 59 loaves of sandwiches to three local soup kitchens, serving their community with care and consistency.
• Cape Town handed over 46 loaves of bread and 20 jars of soup to VGK and NGK Maitland, who feed around 100 people from the streets every Tuesday and Thursday.
• Bryanston supported the Emthonjeni Community Centre, which feeds 2,000 children daily, by donating 40 loaves. Feedback from the centre captured the impact perfectly: “For a change, our children had tea and bread today.”
• Ruimsig delivered an incredible 160 loaves to the Green Door Shelter in Diepsloot, offering vital support to women and children in crisis.
• Pretoria contributed 26 loaves to Jakaranda Orphanage, bringing comfort to children in care.
• Hermanus embraced the drive with energy and heart. What started as a goal of 30 loaves turned into 50 loaves of peanut butter and jam sandwiches, lovingly shared with Nuwerus Aftercare, Napier, Just Care and Sorya’s Soup Kitchen.
  

The Final Tally

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of every person involved, we delivered a total of:
🎉 381 loaves of bread = 3,810 sandwiches 🥪

Each sandwich was a small act of care—nutritious peanut butter, a touch of sweet jam, and a whole lot of love.

More Than Just a Sandwich

The real story behind the Sandwich Drive is the people:

• Team members assembling sandwiches together in offices and boardrooms.
• Families turning their kitchens into mini production lines.
• Volunteers dropping off loaves or joining hands in packing and delivery.

It wasn’t just about feeding people - it was about showing up, sharing kindness, and being present for others in quiet, tangible ways.
