Honouring Women’s Month with Dignity

This August, in honour of Women’s Month, we came together as part of our 30-for-30 Drive to collect sanitary products for women in need. With every pack donated, we not only provided essential care but also helped restore dignity and hope.

August marked Women’s Month, a time to celebrate the resilience, strength, and progress of women across South Africa. At Snymans, we believe that dignity should never be a privilege, it’s a right. That’s why, as part of our 30-for-30 Drive, we focused on collecting sanitary products to help young women manage their health with confidence and pride.

Period poverty continues to be a challenge in many communities, and our teams across South Africa stepped in to help. Through generous contributions from our colleagues, friends, and clients, we were able to support schools, community projects, and organisations that make a difference every day.

Ruimsig Office

A heartfelt thank you goes to our Ruimsig team for their incredible generosity. Our colleague, Xoliswa, expressed her gratitude for the office’s support in driving this initiative:

“I’m humbled to say that the Ruimsig office contributed and made a huge impact in trying to end period poverty. Their generosity doesn’t go unnoticed. The sanitary towels collected were donated to schoolgirls and community girls as part of the initiative I drive. The handover took place at a school in Soweto, where most of the recipients were Grade 6 and 7 learners from underprivileged backgrounds.”

The joy and relief on the girls’ faces during the handover were a reminder of how small actions can restore dignity and hope.

Swellendam Office

The Swellendam office collected 61 packs of sanitary products, which will be shared between two incredible initiatives: a local soup kitchen in the Railton area and Vuyani, a children’s education project in Matjoks. Both play an important role in uplifting vulnerable members of the community, and these donations will go a long way in providing care and dignity to young girls in need.

Cape Town and Hermanus Offices

The Cape Town office collected 79 packs of sanitary products, while the Hermanus office contributed 30 packs. Together, their efforts supported The Jones Safe House in Kommetjie, an organisation that provides shelter, care, and protection for vulnerable women and children. These donations ensure that the young girls in their care have access to essential products and the dignity they deserve.

Looking Ahead

This Women’s Month initiative was more than just a collection drive—it was about standing together for dignity, equality, and opportunity. Through the Snymans Caterpillar Foundation and the support of our 30-for-30 campaign, we remain committed to making meaningful contributions that uplift women and communities across South Africa.

Together, we can end period poverty.
